We are hunting for a meticulous and safety-driven Inspector & Quality Technician to champion the integrity of our Worcester, MA aerospace operations. In this high-impact role, you will lead the evaluation of critical PT6-series turbine engine components through every stage of our advanced engineering and FAA-approved repair pipeline. You will be the final gatekeeper for airworthiness, ensuring every part meets strict regulatory and company benchmarks before being cleared for flight. For a qualified professional, this role offers a direct track to a designated FAA Repairman (Inspector) role, making you a cornerstone of our elite quality assurance team.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Rate: The expected hourly wage is $45-60/hr. Pay will be offered based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, and certifications. Responsibilities Include:
- Multi-Stage Diagnostics: Execute thorough evaluations on incoming raw parts, in-progress overhauls, and finished assemblies to determine repairability and service life.
- Blueprint Translation: Analyze complex blueprints, engineering orders, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals, and regulatory paperwork to guide inspection criteria.
- Precision Metrology: Utilize micrometers, calipers, and advanced gauging tools to verify exact dimensional tolerances on intricate turbine parts.
- Regulatory Auditing: Scrutinize shop travelers, repair logs, and technician sign-offs to guarantee absolute administrative accuracy and compliance.
- Flight Certification: Authorized personnel will officially sign off on documentation and certify components for immediate return to service.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner seamlessly with machinists, welders, engineers, and plant leadership to resolve quality discrepancies and foster continuous shop floor improvements.
Skills and Qualifications
- Credentials: An active FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate is highly preferred, though we welcome candidates with extensive, verifiable backgrounds in aerospace inspection, turbine maintenance, or regulated defense manufacturing.
- Industry Experience: Proven background working within an active FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment, ideally with specific exposure to PT6 engine architecture.
- Technical Aptitude: Mastery of precision measuring devices and a sharp mechanical intellect for interpreting complex technical datasets.
