Aerospace Structure Technician

Pay: $25/hr-$40/hr

4 month Contract to Hire

1st shift: 5am to 330pm

2nd shift: 3pm to 130am

Job Description

As a Structure Technician, you will be responsible for drilling precision holes on flight hardware using appropriate tools and jigs. You will also assemble hardware using structural adhesives, correctly torque fasteners, install inserts, or hiloks. Performing in-process inspections with micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges, along with blending or deburring operations using suitable hand or power tools, will be crucial. Additionally, you will protect hardware with alodine or sealant.

Responsibilities

• Drill precision holes on flight hardware using suitable drill motors and sizes.
• Assemble hardware using structural adhesives and properly torque fasteners.
• Install inserts and hiloks as needed.
• Perform in-process inspections using tools like micrometers and calipers.
• Conduct blending or deburr operations with appropriate tools.
• Protect hardware using alodine or sealant.

Essential Skills

• Experience with structural components and aerospace materials.
• Proficiency in pneumatic drilling and working with aluminum.
• Knowledge in using torque wrenches and precision tolerance techniques.
• Familiarity with structural bonding and helicoil.
• Capability in bond prepping and mechanical assembly.
• Expertise in rivet installation and using fastening tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of 5S organizational methodology.
• Forklift operation certification.
• Background as an aerospace technician.
• Ability to solve technical problems, such as explaining the process of drilling a half-inch hole.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Long Beach,CA.
