Aerospace Surface Finishing Technician (Electroplating & Anodizing)

What a Day Looks Like

You’ll start your shift reviewing travelers and blueprints, confirming specs and measuring points. You’ll prepare components by cleaning, degreasing, and masking, then move into hands-on work: setting up electroplating, anodizing, and related surface finishing operations. Throughout the day, you’ll monitor bath parameters, balance chemistries, and adjust compositions to keep conditions in spec. You’ll inspect results, verify thickness and appearance, document production data, and keep the line running by maintaining and troubleshooting equipment. Safety and housekeeping are constants, and you’ll collaborate with teammates to hit quality and throughput goals while contributing ideas for continuous improvement.

Role Requirements

• 3+ years of recent plating experience across at least two finishes
• Solid understanding of plating processes, chemistries, and equipment
• Sharp eye for detail and quality control
• Intermediate math ability
• Strong reading comprehension and clear communication
• Comfort reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools
• Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills
• Works well independently and within a team
• Capable of standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and working in a manufacturing environment
• Thrives in a fast-paced setting

Core Responsibilities

• Execute electroplating, anodizing, and other finishing processes
• Prepare parts: clean, degrease, and mask as required
• Monitor baths; adjust chemical balances to maintain proper conditions
• Inspect and verify parts meet specifications and quality standards
• Maintain and troubleshoot plating equipment for peak performance
• Follow safety protocols; keep work area clean and organized
• Document production data and report issues
• Partner with team members to achieve production and continuous improvement goals
