Step into a shop where precision shapes flight. As our Aerospace TIG Fabrication Specialist in Hastings, MI, you’ll help turn detailed drawings into high-quality aircraft components. Your day starts with a blueprint in hand and ends with a flawless weld that meets exacting specifications.

A day in the life

You’ll review technical drawings and welding symbols, plan your weld sequence, and set up your TIG station. From carbon steel and aluminum to thin-wall stainless tubing, you’ll execute clean, consistent welds. Throughout the day, you’ll coordinate with teammates to keep projects on schedule, inspect your work to aerospace-quality standards, and keep a safe, organized work area. When fabrication challenges arise, you’ll diagnose issues quickly and help implement fixes.

What you will do

  • Perform TIG welding on carbon steel, aluminum, and thin-wall stainless tubing to strict specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Fabricate metal parts and assemblies per project requirements.
  • Inspect welds and finished products to ensure quality assurance standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly workspace and follow safety protocols.
  • Collaborate across departments to meet project deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues as they appear.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a TIG welder and fabricator.
  • Deep knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
