Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in the design and development of Autofocus (AF) or Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) systems.
  • 3 years of experience in technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
  • Experience with the testing, calibration, and validation of AF/OIS systems for high-volume consumer electronics.
  • Experience with the development of control algorithms for AF/OIS systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in system-level (SW/FW/HW) co-design and co-optimization for performance, power, and manufacturability.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing projects and driving cross-functional teams to deliver on a product roadmap.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Architect the roadmap and vision for next-generation AF and OIS systems across Google's hardware portfolio.
  • Drive the introduction of novel AF/OIS technologies, from concept to production, to pioneer new imaging and sensing capabilities.
  • Own the end-to-end design, development, and optimization of advanced control systems and algorithms to achieve state-of-the-art AF and OIS performance.
