Position Overview

Vision IT is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to support the AFSCI network at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) and supported Geographically Separated Units (GSUs). This onsite position requires a motivated IT professional with strong experience in systems administration, network operations, cybersecurity compliance, and DoD enterprise environments.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and operational readiness of AFSCI systems and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force enterprise architecture requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform systems administration of the AFSCI network at LAAFB and supported GSUs.
  • Administer and maintain all related equipment including servers, workstations, switches, routers, peripherals, and associated infrastructure.
  • Ensure systems remain operational, accessible, and compliant with DoD and Air Force enterprise architecture standards.
  • Execute all actions necessary to operate and maintain equipment in a serviceable condition or restore systems to operational status.
  • Perform inspection, periodic testing, troubleshooting, adjustment, repair, and maintenance activities.
  • Identify required replacement parts and coordinate with the U.S. Government (USG) as necessary.
  • Manage server and client systems including configuration, administration, and lifecycle support.
  • Perform system patching, vulnerability remediation, and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation.
  • Ensure systems are securely configured in accordance with DoD cybersecurity policies and best practices.
  • Collect, maintain, and provide technical artifacts required for RMF packages and future IT projects.
  • Coordinate with external organizations and agencies to resolve issues outside the vendor's direct control.
  • Support incident response and resolution activities in accordance with Appendix G requirements.
  • Maintain 99.9% monthly availability of AFSCI services and systems under vendor control, equating to no more than approximately 43.2 minutes of downtime per month.
  • Support audits, inspections, cybersecurity assessments, and compliance initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience administering enterprise-level Windows and/or Linux environments in a DoD or federal environment.
  • Strong knowledge of servers, networking, virtualization, storage, and endpoint management.
  • Experience implementing STIGs, patch management, and secure system configurations.
  • Familiarity with RMF processes and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with government personnel, contractors, and external support organizations.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work onsite at LAAFB.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification such as Security+, CASP+, or CISSP.
  • Experience supporting Air Force or Space Force programs.
  • Familiarity with ACAS, eMASS, SCCM, VMware, and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and routing/switching technologies.
