After Care Teacher (K-5)

We are actively seeking a an enthusiastic, caring, and dependable part-time After Care Teacher to join our Lake Orion team.  In this role you will provide a safe welcoming classroom for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade who attend Heartfelt after their elementary school day. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, fosters positive relationships and creates fun, enriching experiences that encourage learning, creativity, and social development during after school hours.

Great opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Elementary education or for a retired teacher who wants to stay busy.

Job Details:

Status: Regular, part-time

Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:30pm-6pm

Hourly rate: Starting at $15, $18 if able to drive the 14-passenger bus

Location: On site Lake Orion, MI

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Have reliable transportation and be punctual
• Valid driver’s license with chauffer’s endorsement required to drive the 14-passenger bus (highly desired and company reimburses cost)
• Background check (fingerprinting required)
• CPR/First Aid certification (can be completed within 30 days of hire)
• Prior elementary teaching experience a plus

Essential functions:

·       Communicates openly with both parents and staff

·       Provides active supervision at all times

·       Activity planning (indoor and outdoor)

·       Helping children with homework assignments, conflict resolution and other classroom interactions

·       Feeding the children their afternoon snack

·       Building respectful relationships in the classroom

·       Comply with licensing rules, regulations, and procedures
