Position: After Care Worker Reports to: Elementary Principal, After Care Director Location: 12th Street Campus (3800 S 12th St. Kalamazoo, MI) Job Type: Part-time We are seeking a responsible and enthusiastic After School Care Worker to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The After Care Worker will be responsible for supervising and engaging with children in a safe and nurturing environment during after school hours. This position requires someone who is dependable, passionate about working with children, reliable, and capable of creating a fun and enriching experience for our students. The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong & active Christian faith with a solid knowledge of the Bible. He/She will understand & be committed to the mission & vision of Christian education, specifically that of Kalamazoo Christian.
Responsibilities - Supervise children in a safe and supportive environment during after school hours.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts.
- Assist children with homework and provide academic support when needed.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
Schedule - 2:45-5:45 pm daily, possibility of flexible schedule if you are not available every day of the week
- No after care program when there is no school (Christmas break, Spring break, etc.) or on half days of school
Requirements - MUST be at least 16
- CPR and First Aid certification required, certification opportunities provided
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
