Key Responsibilities:

Production & Operations Management
  • Oversee daily operations of SDSM and After Paint production areas
  • Ensure production schedules are met in alignment with customer demand and delivery targets
  • Monitor workflow, labor utilization, and equipment performance to optimize efficiency
  • Coordinate with upstream and downstream departments to maintain smooth production flow
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, downtime, and quality issues
Quality & Compliance:
  • Ensure all products meet internal and customer quality standards
  • Implement and enforce standardized work practices and process controls
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to address defects, root causes, and corrective actions
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
Safety Leadership:
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all shifts
  • Conduct regular safety audits, training, and incident investigations
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA and company safety guidelines
  • Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, leads, and hourly employees
  • Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and provide feedback
  • Support workforce planning, staffing, and training initiatives
  • Foster employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, standard work, waste reduction)
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects to enhance productivity and reduce cost
  • Implement best practices for after-paint finishing processes
Cost & Performance Management
  • Manage labor and operating costs within budget targets
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
  • On-time delivery
  • First-pass yield
  • Scrap/rework rates
  • Productivity metrics
  • Support capital planning and equipment improvement initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain
  • Communicate production status, risks, and improvement plans to leadership
  • Participate in daily production meetings and escalation processes

Role Requirements:

  • Experience in finishing, after-paint, detailing, or similar production processes
    Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with SDSM, paint finishing, or surface preparation processes
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification

Physical demands:

This role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional climbing, as well as lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance. Work may include pushing or pulling equipment, using tools, and operating a computer. Occasional driving to job sites is required, and exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions is common. Proper PPE will be provided, and reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals.
