We are seeking After School Counselors who are available every Monday-Friday from 2:45pm - 5:45pm OR 3:15pm- 6:15pm.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement daily lesson/activity plans within established guidelines.
- Supervise children and all program activities.
- Make systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
- Maintain positive relationships through effective communication with parents.
- Attend YMCA Branch family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of college preferred.
- Previous experience working with elementary school-aged children in a group setting preferred.
- Previous experience working with diverse backgrounds preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/Russian/Ukrainian/English) a plus.
- Required to work every Monday through Friday either 2:45pm-5:45pm OR 3:15pm-6:15pm
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lead and participate in activities in indoor and outdoor settings.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing.
