Monday-Thursday 3:00-5:30, Friday 1:00-3:30

Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $12.00 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function

Student Supervision

  • Assist in supervising students during after-school programming.
  • Support safe transitions between activities.
  • Monitor students during indoor and outdoor play.
  • Assist with student check-in and dismissal procedures.
  • Help maintain accurate attendance records.

Academic Support

  • Work with individual students and small groups during homework and reading time.
  • Encourage positive learning habits and participation.
  • Assist students with age-appropriate academic activities.
  • Support literacy, math, and enrichment activities as directed by the Program Coordinator.

Activity Support

  • Assist with preparation and facilitation of enrichment activities including:

  • Arts and crafts

  • STEM activities

  • Literacy games

  • Outdoor recreation

  • Physical activities

  • Cooperative games

  • Creative projects

  • Help set up and clean up materials before and after activities.

Behavior and Social-Emotional Support

Model positive behavior and respectful communication.

  • Encourage kindness, inclusion, and cooperation among students.
  • Reinforce school expectations and routines.
  • Support students in resolving minor conflicts appropriately.
  • Refer behavioral concerns to the Program Coordinator or supervising staff member.

Program Operations

  • Assist with snack distribution and clean-up.
  • Organize supplies and learning materials.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment.
  • Support inventory and preparation of program materials.
  • Report safety concerns or incidents immediately to supervising staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Weber State University student eligible for employment through the 50/50 Student Employment Program.
  • Ability to work effectively with young children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child and Family Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Recreation, or related field.
  • Previous experience working with children.
  • Interest in education or youth development.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
