After School Program Counselor - (PT Seasonal)

The AfterSchool Program Counselor is responsible for spervising activities in after school program and providing a safe and enriching environment for school-aged children.

• Assists students individually or in groups with homework assignments.
• Use positive discipline techniques when addressing children.
• Support childrens emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and promoting positive self-esteem.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by Program Coordinator
• Attend staff training and meetings as needed

Required Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of two years experience in working with elementary and middle school students in a school or community-based setting
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work with ethnically diverse populations
• Have the ability to demonstrate patience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward youth and parents
• Pass NJ Child Abuse Record information Check (CARI)
• Maintain yearly established training and other training as required by NCC or state regulations.\
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States and pass a criminal background check
