    TITLE: Explorers After School Program Site Supervisor

    DEPARTMENT: Explorers After School Program

    REPORTS TO: Explorers Program Director

    RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Explorers Program Director

    BASIC FUNCTION (BF1): The Program Site Supervisor will work closely with staff and students

    to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the Program to improve academics, attendance

    and behavior. This position requires continuous use of independent judgment.

    HIRING SPECIFICATIONS (HS1-11):

    Demonstrated Experience or Willingness to Acquire Skills

    1. Maintains animated hospitality aligned with our core values with students, parents,

    faculty and community

    1. Communicates effectively and in a professional manner with eh Program Director,

    program staff, school administrators, school staff and parents on a regular basis

    regarding program activities

    1. Maintain cleanliness in all program areas; including the upkeep of the equipment and

    facility in an acceptable manner and the set-up and breakdown during the program day

    to contribute to ongoing efforts to keep the building orderly.Explorers Program Site Supervisor April 2024

    1. Work with the Program Director to design a site program schedule/calendar that includes

    a variety of educational, enrichment, and recreational activities that align with the

    requirements of the 21 st Century Community Learning Center grant and FCSD.

    1. Develop rapport and build relationships with program staff, building staff, and participant

    families

    1. Responsible for immediately reporting and documenting any and all injuries or incidents

    utilizing established procedures for notification to parents and administration

    1. Identify needed supplies and resources, and inform the Program director in a timely

    manner

    1. Reports to work each day in appropriate and clean attire

    2. Attend professional learning, meetings, and required trainings as directed

    3. Other assignments as may be directed by the Program Director

    4. Represent Fairfield Community Schools effectively in the community, state and nation

    ABILITIES (A1):

    This position will require physical demands that include constant standing, walking,

    bending/stooping, and climbing. There will be frequent, reaching/pushing/pulling, extreme

    temperatures/humidity conditions, inside/outside work conditions, and lifting of up to 25 pounds.

    There will be occasional, carrying of 10 feet, and lifting of 25-75 pounds and 50-75 pounds, and

    sitting. In emergencies there may be a need to lift 75-100 pounds

    KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION (KE1-10 and KED1-4):

    Required:

    1. High School Diploma or GED

    2. Eighteen (18) years of age or older

    3. Meet requirements for trainings/screenings and professional learnings set by the district

    and State of Iowa

    1. Meet or exceed pre-employment evaluation

    2. Ability to use good judgment

    3. Ability to lead and supervise activities, monitor behavior, and oversee curriculum

    activities

    1. Ability to make on-demand programmatic changes based on organizational

    requirements

    1. Ability to clearly convey messages regarding policies, procedures and practices

    2. Ability to recognize potential issues and apply established program procedures and

    problem-solving methods as needed

    1. Ability to observe staff and student behavior, assess its appropriateness and apply the

    appropriate behavior management technique, positive redirection, or corrective action as

    necessary in order to support positive behavior choices

    1. Willingness to work positively with and mentor youth

    Desired:

    1. Successful work or volunteer experience with students and children

    2. Supervisory experience with school age children

    3. CPR and First Aid Certifications

    4. Knowledge of after school programs, communities and/or positive youth development
