After School Visual Arts Teacher (Toddler & Pre-School)

Position DescriptionWellan Montessori School is seeking a warm, patient, and creative After School Visual Arts Teacher to introduce our youngest learners (Toddler and Pre-School ages) to the joy of artistic expression in our After School program. This is a semester-long position. Each class typically meets once per week between the hours of 3:00 - 4:30 PM, including prep and clean up. Our teaching rate starts at $45 an hour.ResponsibilitiesDesign and lead fun, process-oriented, and sensory-rich art activities tailored for very young children.Introduce foundational art concepts (colors, shapes, textures) through safe, age-appropriate mediums like finger painting, clay, and collage.Maintain a gentle, encouraging, and structured environment that aligns with early childhood development best practices.Manage studio setup and clean-up for afternoon sessions.QualificationsBackground in Fine Arts, Art Education, or Early Childhood Education.Experience working with toddlers and/or preschool-aged children.A patient, nurturing demeanor and a passion for fostering early creativity. (Montessori familiarity is a plus!).
