Location: Austin, TX
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary:$60–$70,000K
We are conducting a confidential search for an Aftermarket Operations & E-Commerce Associate to join a growing Austin-based operation serving the heavy-duty transportation and equipment industry.
This is much more than a traditional parts or warehouse position. This person will have the opportunity to take ownership of an emerging resale and e-commerce operation and help build it into a meaningful revenue channel.
The company has a significant inventory of quality used and surplus parts and components. Your role will be to identify items with resale value, photograph and create listings, establish pricing, manage fulfillment, and continuously improve the process.
At the same time, you will gain hands-on experience in purchasing, vendor management, inventory control, and parts operations.
This is an entry-level opportunity with significant ownership and growth potential. We are looking for someone with good judgment, initiative, attention to detail, and the desire to build something—not necessarily someone with years of industry experience.
Help build and grow the company's used and surplus parts resale channel
Determine which parts should be listed for sale
Photograph, describe, price, package, and ship parts
Monitor sales activity, pricing, and inventory performance
Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies
Manage relationships and orders with assigned vendors
Help improve processes as the e-commerce operation grows
Place parts orders with vendors by phone, email, and online portals
Follow up with vendors regarding orders, backorders, credits, and delivery status
Receive shipments and verify parts against purchase orders and invoices
Resolve shortages, backorders, billing discrepancies, and other purchasing issues
Photograph and create online listings for used and surplus parts
Package and ship customer orders
Perform inventory counts and investigate inventory variances
Maintain purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, credits, and core returns
Pick up parts from local vendors and make occasional deliveries
Work with technicians and service personnel to identify the correct parts for specific equipment
Use technology and AI tools to research part numbers, improve listings, organize information, and streamline administrative work
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in any field
Strong initiative and an ownership mentality
Ability to work independently and solve problems without needing constant direction
Good judgment and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable communicating with vendors by phone and email
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable working with numbers, part numbers, inventory, and records
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation
Authorized to work in the United States
Degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or another technical field
Experience selling products through eBay, Amazon, Facebook Marketplace, or another online marketplace
E-commerce experience
Photography or product-listing experience
Experience with inventory, parts, dealerships, warehouses, fleets, automotive, or similar industries
Experience using AI tools to improve productivity or automate routine tasks
The company actively uses AI and technology to improve everyday operations, including researching part numbers, creating product listings, organizing spreadsheets, and reducing administrative work.
You do not need prior AI experience. What matters most is that you're curious, comfortable learning new technology, and naturally look for better and faster ways to accomplish a task.
This isn't a job where you'll simply be handed a checklist every day.
You'll have the opportunity to build and take ownership of a business function, learn multiple areas of operations, and directly see the results of your work.
If you're someone who sees an opportunity and thinks, "There has to be a better way to do this," this could be an excellent fit.
