ROLE IMPACT

The Aftermarket Parts Buyer supports aftermarket parts availability by procuring parts and materials at competitive cost while meeting quality and delivery objectives. This role manages domestic and international supplier relationships, develops cost-saving opportunities, and partners across engineering, finance, quality, and marketing to support aftermarket business requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Procure aftermarket parts, components, and materials while balancing cost, quality, inventory, and on-time delivery requirements.

• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and manage domestic and international suppliers, including issuing requests for quotation (RFQs) and assessing supplier capabilities.

• Manage supplier contracts, pricing strategies, cost-reduction initiatives, and detailed price analysis covering raw materials, labor, manufacturing, and packaging costs.

• Partner with engineering, finance, quality, marketing, and suppliers to resolve sourcing, invoice, quality, and material issues; interpret blueprints, sketches, requisitions, and technical instructions as needed.

• Source parts for legacy truck and component catalogs while identifying opportunities for supplier consolidation and improved availability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 2 years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or related experience.

• Proficiency with ERP software and Microsoft Office, with strong analytical, research, organization, documentation, and supplier negotiation skills.

• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the U.S. and available for periodic business travel to supplier locations.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• Knowledge of import/export requirements, supplier negotiations, inventory management, and domestic/international sourcing.

• Ability to prepare detailed price analyses, recommendations, and project reports for management.
