About the Role:
The Learning Tree in Wilmington, NC is looking for a warm, energetic Afternoon Floater/Teacher Assistant to join our team! In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to connect with children ranging from older infants to 5 years old, supporting classrooms and helping little ones learn and grow every day.



Responsibilities:

• Float between classrooms supporting teachers with children ages infant through 5 years old
• Be assigned to different classrooms daily to assist teachers
• Assist with daily activities, lesson plans, and age-appropriate learning experiences
• Supervise and engage children during playtime, meals, and nap time
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members
• Follow childcare center routines, schedules, and safety protocols
• Provide attentive care and support to meet each child's individual developmental needs

Requirements:

• Prior experience in early childhood education or childcare preferred
• Genuine passion for working with infants and young children
• Ability to work flexible afternoon hours and adapt to different classroom settings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Must meet NC childcare licensing background check requirements
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Patient, reliable, and nurturing demeanor
