Job Description

Summary/Objective

Agar is looking for a hardworking, motivated Painter/Laborer to join our team. This person will be mainly at the shop performing various tasks to facilitate the other processes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Proper operation of small tools such as grinders, drills, and spray guns.
• Operation of a forklift on a regular basis.
• Preparation of fabricated steel items for primer.
• Unloading trucks and making small deliveries.
• Work as an active team member to complete team goals
• Keep shop premises neat and clean

Requirements

• Valid Driver's license
• Ability to push, lift and pull up to 50 pounds
• Able to pass drug and physical tests

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory requirements.

Work Environment

Functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The standard work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers, and phone conversations. The employee works around hazardous situations, materials, and equipment.

Physical Demands

Physical demands are based on the ability to perform the following actions throughout an 8-12 hour period of work for a 4-7 day work week.

• Exert oneself physically over long periods of time.
• Bend stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and other extremities.
• Use one's abdominal muscles and lower back to lift continuously over time without fatigue.
• Exert maximum muscle force to lift, pull, or carry objects.
• Keep or regain one's body balance or to stay upright.
• Quickly move the arms and legs.
• Stand and walk throughout an extended workday.
• Use legs, hands and arms on a consistent basis for manual labor.
• Lift up to 100 pounds on occasion and up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required.
