Trident Consulting is seeking a "Agentic AI Product Owner / Manager” for one of our clients in "Remote "

Job Title: Agentic AI Product Owner / Manager
Location: Remote
Length of Assignment: 1 year w/ extension
Type: Contract (W2)
Rate:$80/hr on W2

Experience
4-8+ years of Product Management or Product Ownership experience.
Prior exposure to AI/ML, Agentic AI, developer tools, or platform products preferred.

Job Description
  • We are looking for an Agentic AI Product Owner to own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our Agentic AI Platform, a foundational system enabling autonomous AI agents to operate across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including code generation, testing, review, deployment, and documentation.
  • This role sits at the intersection of product management, AI strategy, and software engineering. You will define what the platform does, why it exists, and who it serves by translating engineering leadership's vision and developer needs into a clear roadmap, while partnering closely with engineers building the platform's governance, framework, and agent capabilities.
  • This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role shaping how AI agents are adopted across the engineering organization.

Responsibilities
  • Own the product vision and roadmap for the Agentic AI Platform, aligning it with engineering leadership's goals for SDLC automation and AI-driven developer productivity.
  • Translate business and developer needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the engineering team building the platform.
  • Define and prioritize the platform's core capabilities including agent orchestration, governance and guardrails, observability, multi-model support, and reusable agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph-based agents).
  • Partner with engineering to ensure the platform remains platform-agnostic, supporting multiple LLM providers, programming languages, and infrastructure environments.
  • Define success metrics for agent adoption, including developer productivity gains, agent accuracy and reliability, time saved per SDLC stage, and adoption rates across teams.
  • Establish governance and compliance requirements in collaboration with security, legal, and compliance stakeholders, including data handling, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, auditability, and responsible AI usage.
  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering teams, platform users (developers and DevOps), leadership, and security/compliance stakeholders.
  • Lead discovery efforts and feedback loops with internal engineering teams piloting SDLC agents, incorporating findings into the product roadmap.
  • Manage the backlog and sprint priorities in collaboration with engineering leads, balancing new capabilities, technical debt, and governance requirements.
  • Stay current with the rapidly evolving Agentic AI landscape, including emerging frameworks, protocols such as MCP, and industry trends, incorporating relevant innovations into product strategy.
  • Drive change management and adoption through documentation, training, and communication plans that enable engineering teams to effectively adopt the platform.

Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, preferably supporting developer tools, platform products, or AI/ML solutions.
Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including CI/CD, version control, testing, code review, and deployment processes.
Working knowledge of LLM and Agentic AI concepts, including agents, tool/function calling, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), multi-agent orchestration, and prompting. Hands-on coding experience is not required.
Experience writing clear product requirements, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for technical or platform products.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to align engineering, security, compliance, and leadership teams around a shared roadmap.
Experience defining KPIs and success metrics for platform or developer-tooling products.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.

Nice to Have
Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar agentic AI frameworks.
Experience with AI governance frameworks, including responsible AI, model risk management, and human-in-the-loop design.
Background in developer platforms, internal tools, or platform product management.
Experience with Agile/Scrum ownership, including backlog grooming and sprint planning in engineering-heavy environments.
Prior experience launching an internal AI/ML platform from 0 to 1.
