Position Summary: Under the direction of the Aggregate Supervisor and Superintendent the Aggregate Foreman oversees the day-to-day operations of the crusher and screening plants and ensuring quality and safety requirements and standards are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Training and teaching of fellow employees in a hands-on manner.
- Ensures employees follow all company safety procedures including, but not limited to, wearing PPE, and following all MSHA regulations.
- Communicate instructions and expectations to aggregate crews.
- Organize, plan, and schedule minor maintenance projects.
- Oversee day to day operations of the crusher and screening plants.
- Monitor ton per hour and specifications of materials, report run time, and maintenance to superintendent after every shift.
- Monitor company radio and phone.
- Maintain plant cleanliness, minor maintenance, repair work, and plant lubrication.
- Schedule the changing of cutting edges and ground engaging tools (GET).
- Ensure products produced meet quality standards.
- Maintain an insurable driving record and comply with all safety and environmental requirements.
Education and/or Experience:
- 5 years' experience in Aggregate Production.
- Exceptional safety record
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Sitting: 25% of the time.
- Standing: 50% of the time.
- Driving: 25% of the time.
- Weight lifted: Up to 50 pounds.
- Physical Movement: Must have full range of body movements including pulling, pushing, reaching, grasping, twisting, balance, kneeling/squatting, stooping, climbing, and ability to bend.
- Speaking / Listening: Needs to be able to communicate effectively with teams, supervision, drivers, and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements.
- Working Conditions: Will primarily be working outdoors in all weather conditions. May be exposed to high levels of noise, grease, and dust associated with construction projects. May be exposed to work near moving equipment.
