Agile Business Analyst

Randstad is seeking a highly collaborative Agile Business Analyst to join our enterprise client's delivery team in the Washington, D.C. area. Acting as a crucial bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, this role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and translating business needs into actionable technical requirements while ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives. As a key member of a self-organizing Agile team, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Agility Coaches, Developers, Architects, and QA professionals to drive iterative value. Candidates must thrive in a self-managed environment-taking full ownership of their iteration commitments, capacity planning, and allocation-and actively participate in a video-first collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirements Elicitation & Story Refinement: Conduct discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and workshops to transform business goals into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and functional specifications.
• Process & Workflow Modeling: Map out current and future-state workflows, process diagrams, business models, and data flows to uncover automation opportunities and process efficiencies.
• Agile Team Participation: Practice true self-organization by actively participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives while managing personal capacity and iteration commitments.
• Traceability & Validation: Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability across the solution lifecycle, supporting solution design validation against core business goals.
• Quality & Acceptance: Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), manage defect tracking, and drive business sign-off activities to maintain quality standards.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the primary liaison connecting Product Owners, technical leads, and business sponsors to maintain clarity and scope alignment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Agile Expertise: Proven hands-on training and practical experience operating within Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
• Technical & Analytical Aptitude: Demonstrated proficiency in process mapping, gap analysis, workflow modeling, and system dependency analysis.
• Communication & Facilitation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience facilitating workshops and technical presentations for cross-functional teams.
• Remote Engagement Expectation: High level of visual presence and active engagement; candidates are expected to keep their video cameras on for the majority of team ceremonies and stakeholder interactions.
• Self-Management Mindset: Strong sense of personal accountability with demonstrated capability in capacity allocation, task prioritization, and meeting commitment deadlines independently.
• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience); prior experience supporting enterprise clients or public sector environments in the D.C. region is preferred.
