As an AG Service Technician, you will work alongside an experienced service team while developing expertise across a wide range of agricultural equipment and technologies. Your ability to diagnose problems, find solutions, and provide quality repairs plays an important role in keeping our customers productive and their equipment in the field. What You'll Do - Diagnose, repair, and maintain customer and dealer-owned agricultural equipment, from routine maintenance to complex repairs.
- Use diagnostic tools, testing equipment, service information, and technology to identify the root cause of equipment issues.
- Diagnose and repair AFS technology, including monitors, guidance systems, navigation, autosteer, and other precision-ag equipment.
- Perform electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and technology-related diagnostics and repairs.
- Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
- Perform equipment setup and pre-delivery inspections on new and used equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
- Complete field service assignments and respond to customer needs when equipment problems occur in the field.
- Identify additional repairs or maintenance needs and communicate those recommendations to the Service Manager so customers can be informed.
- Work closely with the Parts Department to identify and obtain the parts needed to complete repairs.
- Communicate proactively with the Service Manager when additional parts, time, or resources are needed to complete a job.
- Look for opportunities to continue productive work when a repair is temporarily delayed.
- Pay attention to repeat repairs and work to identify the root cause so problems are properly resolved the first time.
- Maintain accurate records of time, materials, repairs, and daily activities.
- Maintain your tools, diagnostic equipment, and work area so you are prepared to take on the next challenge.
- Continue developing your technical knowledge by staying current on equipment, technology, service information, training, licenses, and certifications.
- Safely transport equipment and parts when needed, including properly securing equipment and completing pre- and post-transport inspections.
- Work as part of a team and support your fellow technicians, parts team, service leadership, and customers.
- Look for ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs, increase service revenue, and create a better experience for our customers.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Service Manager.
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:- Work is performed in an office, maintenance shop and outdoor environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system. May be subject to sitting, standing, climbing, lifting, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, speaking, listening and motor coordination.
