Job Description: We are a single-family farm operation raising beef cattle and row crops. We have 250 mother cows. We start and background our own calves with an additional 300-400 purchased calves on wheat pasture. We cut and bale our own hay as well as harvesting 500-600 acres of wheat. We conventional till 1/2 of our acres each year and will double-crop several hundred acres with beans. We own late-model John Deere tractors with auto steer and late-model hay equipment. We maintain and service all equipment mostly ourselves. We have a large shop on site with heated floors for winter use. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc, attach/detach implements, clean work areas, construct facilities, load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities, load and unload materials and commodities, load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery, operate self propelled machinery, record information about crops, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures, tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating, use hand tools such as such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: air seeders, augers, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, bailers and other hay equipment, combines or other harvesting equipment, dirt moving equipment, GPS guidance systems, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, self-propelled machinery, semi trucks, skid steers, sprayers, straight frame trucks, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, ti Anticipated Hours of work per week: 68 hours weekly. Schedule: Monday - Friday (12 hours), Saturday (8 hours). 8AM - 9PM. Pay: $15.55 hourly. Paid biweekly. Effective 1/1/24, overtime must be paid after 48 hours worked per week, or 56 hours worked per week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers, after 54 hours worked per week for non-highly seasonal employers, and after 56 hours worked per week for small employers.
