TITLE Agricultural Mechanics Power & Structural Systems Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS The following is a general overview of responsibilities for a full-time secondary Agriculture teacher at Delphi Community School Corporation High School and Middle School. Must possess a current Indiana teaching certification Should be capable of teaching all areas of the Indiana Agriculture Education Standards.

REPORTS TO The Building-Level Principal and the Superintendent.

CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Teach Agricultural Mechanics Power & Structural Systems Small engines repair Tractor and equipment maintenance Welding and metal fabrication Electrical systems Hydraulics Agricultural construction barns fencing etc. Agricultural engineering basics Dual Credit HS Classes Prepare teaching plans demonstration plans and teaching materials for all classes Conduct field trips both in and out of the district Coordinate maintain inventories and keep records of the agricultural materials and equipment for the classroom and laboratory Full inclusion of FFA in the curriculum including FFA responsibilities outside of the classroom

SUPERVISED AGRICULTURAL EXPERIENCE SAE PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Advise and evaluate students regarding Supervised Agriculture Experience Assist students with the planning and maintenance of SAEs Conduct site visits of SAEs as recommended by the State Department of Education Assist students in keeping SAE records at the local and state levels

FFA PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Be willing to serve as an advisor for the FFA chapter. Assist students in coordinating FFA activities at the local district state and national levels. Prepare train and coach FFA and agriculture CDE teams and entries. Assist students in preparing applications for proficiency awards state and American Degrees etc. Assist students in conducting a public relations program for the local FFA chapter and agriculture department. Assisting Members in FFA Fundraising. Assist in the preparation organization and conduct of the Annual FFA Awards Banquet.

OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Serve a 12-month contract Plan and attend evening activities including but not limited to recruitment events consulting committee meetings and award ceremonies. Be willing to obtain license endorsements for the transportation of students Serve as liaison to the local AgricultureFFA advisory board Contribute to the preparation and tracking of the budget for the agriculture program each year. Purchase supplies and equipment for the classroom and laboratory Cooperate in maintaining planning and improving the physical facilities Complete and file required reports with appropriate agencies including the State Department of Education Contribute to the grant writing process for the acquisition of agricultural equipment materials and facilities Community involvement and 4H fair responsibilities along with an appointed position on the Carroll Co. 4H Exhibit Board. Responsible for the Animal Science Lab the Managing Community Garden and the Greenhouse Lab.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT 184 days Additional Contract Salary established by Master Contractual Agreement. Work year established by the Board.
