Agriculture Instructional Assistant
Location: Indiana Agriculture & Technology School (All Campuses)
Reports to: Campus Agriculture Facilitator
Position Overview
The Agriculture Instructional Assistant supports student learning and engagement within Indiana Agriculture & Technology Schools hybrid educational program. Working alongside the Campus Agriculture Facilitator, this position helps create a positive, hands-on learning environment that promotes agriculture, leadership, career readiness, and technical skill development. This is a paid hourly position.
Schedule
- Available 1-3 school days per week (August-May) based on campus schedule
- 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with classroom management and student supervision.
- Support hands-on agriculture, STEM, and career-technical learning activities.
- Facilitate or assist with small-group instruction and learning stations.
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Encourage student engagement, collaboration, and participation.
- Assist with the organization and daily operation of classroom, laboratory, greenhouse, and agricultural learning spaces.
- Support FFA, leadership, and career development activities.
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Serve as a positive mentor and role model for students.
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest or experience in agriculture, education, skilled trades, or youth development.
- Ability to work effectively with middle and high school students.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work in a hands-on learning environment.
- Experience with agricultural education, FFA, or Career and Technical Education is preferred but not required.
