VOCATIONAL TEACHER
JOB DESCRIPTION
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
240 day contract
Job Type: Licensed Teacher.
Reports to: Campus Principal or Designee.
Salary based on district Licensed Salary Schedule.
FLSA Status: Exempt.
12 days sick leave per year of employment.
10 days vacation per year of employment.
3 days personal leave per year of employment.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

endorsements required to teach the assigned vocational subject matter.
CASE Certification or willingness to get CASE certification is REQUIRED.
Must possess knowledge in all areas of responsibility as well as law and local policy.
Must be computer literate with at least the ability to send and receive email with
attachments, produce memos, navigate the internet as required by position
responsibilities, accurately complete and submit forms or reports as required, etc.
Must be able to read and comprehend written instructions, policies, and procedures.
Must be attentive to details, a self-starter, able to work effectively without
constant or direct supervision. Must be able to multi-task.

GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):

Prepare and train FFA contest teams and entries.
Assist students in preparing applications for proficiency awards, state and

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS and/or REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to meet the requirements of the job based on grade level, nature of the teaching assignment along with any associated supervisory duties that may be assigned (i.e. cafeteria duty, playground duty, bus duty, etc.) Must be able to see up close and at a distance. Must have the dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job. There are frequent trips, possibly overnight; prolonged and irregular work hours including late nights and Saturday's; outdoor and indoor work; exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather. Must be able to stand, sit, be mobile, stoop, lift, and/or carry short distances items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Intelligence: Requires the ability to read and follow a variety of instructions on district, state, and federal websites as well as hard copy.
Language Ability: Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondences. Requires the ability to prepare lessons, reports, etc. using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of grammar.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to give oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must possess the ability to speak to people with poise, voice control, and confidence. Must be able to deliver effective presentations to both small and large audiences.
