POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for performing duties related to the precise inspection, evaluation, and handling of eggs to ensure compliance with the company's strictest quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor and evaluate egg quality throughout the production and processing operation to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
  • Perform routine "housewife checks, " including inspection of egg quality, shell integrity, cleanliness, size, weight, interior quality, egg stamps, and date coding (daters) to verify product quality and labeling accuracy.
  • Conduct routine inspections of layer houses, egg collection systems, storage areas, and processing operations to verify compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain production and quality records to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor environmental conditions, flock health indicators, nutrition, and management practices that may impact egg quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company food safety, biosecurity, sanitation, animal welfare, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and document applicable HACCP program critical control points and other food safety verification activities when trained and authorized.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager with employee training, audits, documentation, regulatory compliance activities, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Receive and successfully complete training in workplace safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), internal HACCP programs, and any additional training designated by the General Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree

LANGUAGE SKILLS
The employee must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and SQF procedures. Also must be able to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The employee must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid driver's license is required for this position. If the employee is required to use a forklift and/or pallet jack, a forklift certificate is required.
