POSITION: Agriscience and Technology Teacher (Engineering or Animal/Equine Science)

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primary teaching responsibilities to include all agriscience focus areas. However, a candidate with an engineering background would focus on Grade 9 Introduction to Engineering, Grade 10 Engineering and Grade 11/12 Engineering. A candidate with a background in Animal/Equine Science would focus on Grade 9, Grade 10 equine/animal sciences and Grade 11/12 equine/animal science.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Nonnewaug High School agriscience teacher works to implement the comprehensive 3 circle model of agriscience education across classes. Nonnewaug High School agriscience teachers are leaders in their field and specialize in meeting students' needs in and across a variety of State and National Standards. NHS agriscience teachers work with their instructional leader to continually develop cutting edge curricula and lessons that meet the needs of all students. A deep understanding of differentiated tier one instructional strategies is needed. Nonnewaug High School agriscience teachers strive for excellence and challenge students with a rigorous approach while co-planning with departments across the school.

WORK YEAR: By Contract (Position includes 32-day extended contract beyond the school year)
QUALIFICATIONS: State of Connecticut Vocational Agriculture (040/041)
