Summary of Essential Duties:

  • Works directly with Automated Guided Vehicle System, tippers, trash compactors, cart washers, cardboard bailer, and sterilizers.
  • Takes corrective action when encountering equipment malfunctions.
  • Will notify AGVS Lead Technician and/or Supervisor of malfunctions.
  • Loads AGVS carts on the appropriate tipper, removes the cart when empty and moves it to the cart washer.
  • Ensures that trash, linen and regulated medical waste are in the correct cart prior to tipping/dumping. Makes any necessary correction to the waste stream.
  • Monitors AGV traffic in the dock area. Clears any obstruction in the vehicle's path. Uses emergency stop buttons when necessary.
  • Monitors department equipment and machinery and reports defects. Reports defects in the functionality of all: AGV, Chargers, Sensors, Elevators, Compactors, Tippers, Cart washers, Sterilizers. Carts, and Computers, Radios, Joysticks, and flat beds.
  • Other duties as assigned, such as minor repairs, working as a logistics technician, keeping workspace clean and orderly, involvement in hospital safety testing or implementation.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

  • Warehouse/inventory experience preferred
