AGW Program Development Coordinator Teleservice VISTA
Faith & Philanthropy Institute, Inc. (DBA Alliance for Greater Works) is a 24-year-old backbone organization with a mission of strengthening leaders and organizations to improve the wellbeing of communities. Alliance for Greater Worksserves nonprofit leaders, organizations, and congregations that are embedded in and serve low-income communities across the state of Texas. These populations often reside in historically marginalized neighborhoods and have limited access to critical resources such as quality healthcare, education, mental health services, and economic opportunity. While the VISTA member will operate in a statewide context, AGW benefits from a robust regional base in the Dallas-Fort Worth area-and the data from that region illustrates both the urgency and the opportunity for systems-level impact. There are over 124,000 children living in poverty in Dallas County. AGW addresses poverty by building the capacity of faith-based and community organizations across Texas to deliver effective, sustainable, and effective services to low-income residents. They provide training for nonprofits serving low-income communities on a wide range of topics included Trauma-Informed Care (for youth-serving organizations); Fundraising Strategy, Succession Planning and Program Evaluation. The Community Engagement & Outreach VISTA Volunteer position will increase capacity for the whole organization. The VISTA Volunteer will serve in-person an average of 3 days a week, and virtually 2 days a week.
