This position is responsible for delivering education programs to educate healthcare professionals in various clinical specialty areas. Evaluates and assesses classes for content improvement and effectiveness.
I. Major Responsibilities:
Delivers education programs to educate healthcare professionals in various clinical specialty areas, such as, but not limited to, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Saving (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Ensures appropriate documentation of education programs by maintaining course records to document employee participation and to comply with regulatory requirements.
Manages all appropriate equipment and inventory including cleaning, maintaining, transporting, unloading, and set-up of the necessary materials and supplies for each course.
Evaluates and assesses classes for content improvement and effectiveness.
Seeks professional development opportunities to update clinical theory and practice knowledge and to keep abreast of new trends in education methods and concepts
Keeps abreast of American Heart Association (AHA) standards, certification for instruction by the AHA and adult learning practices
Maintains instructor certifications
Performs administrative tasks including but not limited to email, returning voicemail, filing, scheduling, invoicing, certification card issuance.
Assists with quality monitoring of other instructors within the training center.

II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
High School diploma
Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor certification
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
Current American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor
Workplace violence certification, MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) Instructor Certification or other Crisis de-escalation instructor credentials
Experience/Skills:
Required:
Minimum five (5) years of related work experience, including two (2) years providing clinical education
Ability to communicate course material in a clear and understandable manner
Ability to teach effectively in an adult learning environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities
Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
