AI Agent Development Project Intern (TikTok Shop Governance and Experience) - 2026 Start (BS/MS)

Team Introduction Our Global E-commerce Governance and Experience (GNE) team ensures that TikTok's marketplace remains safe and trustworthy for users, sellers, and creators. As a Listing Governance Program Manager Graduate in the Listing Governance team, you will contribute to the creation and execution of policies and systems that safeguard the platform's quality and sustainability. It will offer you hands-on experience in a fast-paced, global e-commerce environment, empowering you to drive impact while working alongside experts in the field.

We are seeking highly motivated interns with strong analytical, data handling, and problem-solving skills to support the development and optimization of Prompt Engineering (PE) models for our Regulatory Compliance & Prohibited Product programs.

The ideal candidates will possess a mix of technical aptitude (data analysis, large language model interaction, prompt testing) and regulatory/business understanding, enabling them to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up time.

The role will work closely with Program Managers, Compliance SMEs, and AI/ML teams to test, refine, and implement AI-based solutions that improve compliance accuracy and reduce operational friction for internal teams.

As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests.

Responsibilities: Prompt Engineering Model Support

• Collaborate with SMEs to design, test, and refine prompts for AI models used in compliance decision-making.
• Evaluate AI output quality against defined accuracy metrics
• Maintain a prompt library with version history, performance benchmarks, and optimization notes.
• Identify prompt overkill/leakage issues and suggest refinements to improve efficiency.

Compliance Program Support

• Support the classification and verification of products for compliance programs (Prohibited products, DG, EPA, PDP, Recalls).
• Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and misclassifications in compliance workflows.
• Perform sample audits to validate AI classifications against regulatory guidelines.
• Document and escalate gaps to SMEs and Program Managers.

Data & Reporting

• Clean, prepare, and annotate datasets for AI model training and validation.
• Use Excel, SQL, or other tools to create performance dashboards for compliance model accuracy.
• Summarize weekly progress and key findings for leadership review. Minimum Qualifications
  1. Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Compliance, or related field.
  2. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and natural language processing.
