AI Agentic Engineer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking an AI Agentic Engineer for a hybrid position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH; Minneapolis, MN; Dallas, TX; Detroit, MI; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Atlanta, GA; or Tupelo, MS. This is a 3+ month contract to hire opportunity.

Compensation: $58.00 - $68.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
This role is responsible for building AI agents, developing API integrations, and implementing Pub/Sub messaging solutions. As a hands-on software developer, you will collaborate with other engineering teams to build and scale AI solutions, initially focusing on the Commercial Services Loan Operations team. The ideal candidate understands the full agentic AI development lifecycle and has experience developing AI-powered applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement agent workflows from reference patterns (single-agent and supervised multi-agent) with explicit human-in-the-loop decision gates
• Build tool integrations (APIs, document services, internal data products) with secure authentication, authorization boundaries, and deterministic error handling
• Implement RAG retrieval and context assembly patterns (chunking, retrieval filters, re-ranking hooks)
• Implement memory/state patterns consistent with controls (retention, access control, bounded growth, clear reset/forget behavior)
• Write evaluation and regression tests for non-deterministic outputs, including golden datasets and acceptance thresholds
• Apply AI Security Standard guardrails including prompt injection defenses, tool restrictions, and output filtering
• Instrument agents for observability and auditability (decision traces, tool-call telemetry, token/cost metrics, quality signals)
• Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, and sprint ceremonies
• Support production operations and contribute to post-incident improvements

Primary Requirements:

• 3+ years in software engineering
• 1+ year of experience with LLM-enabled applications, agent frameworks, or AI/ML systems
• Strong Python proficiency and experience with Java
• Experience with API development
• Hands-on experience with at least one frontier model platform (e.g., Claude, GPT-4+, Gemini)
• Cloud experience (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and containerization (Docker)

Desired Skills:

• Experience implementing RAG systems and retrieval debugging techniques
• Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI)
• Experience with Pub/Sub and event-driven architectures
• Experience in financial services or another regulated industry
• Familiarity with secure software development concepts (secrets management, threat modeling, SAST/DAST)
