AI and Business Systems Intern - Spring 2027

This position is expected to work 20 hours/week, running 1/11 through 4/23

The AI and Business Systems Intern will support the Business Systems team by building AI tools and documenting business processes. This role offers hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot, process improvement, and the systems that support a manufacturing company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test 1-2 Microsoft Copilot agents that help employees work more efficiently
• Meet with employees across departments to understand their needs and gather requirements for agent development
• Map current business processes for open Business Systems projects, documenting each step, handoff, and system involved
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in existing processes
• Create clear process maps, flowcharts, and supporting documentation
• Assist with testing new systems and features to confirm they work as intended
• Explain technical concepts in plain language to non-technical team members
• Present project progress and final results to the Business Systems team and Leadership
• Coordinate other projects as assigned by the Business Systems Manager

Job Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• Interest in AI tools and how they can improve the way people work
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and comfortable learning new tools independently
