AI Automation Engineer (Power Platform)

Position Summary
The AI Automation Engineer is responsible for building, testing, and supporting automation and low-code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and AI services. This role supports business teams by developing AI-enabled workflows, Power Apps, Power Automate flows, dashboards, and proof-of-concepts. The engineer will manage incoming requests, enhance existing automations, and ensure solutions are reliable, scalable, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain Power Automate flows, Power Apps, and Power BI dashboards
• Configure and apply Microsoft Copilot, AI Builder, and Azure AI features within low-code solutions
• Gather requirements from business teams and translate them into functional automation designs
• Develop proof-of-concepts for new AI and automation use cases
• Respond to ServiceNow or ticket-based requests for enhancements, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
• Ensure solutions meet governance, security, and compliance standards
• Document workflows, data mappings, technical designs, and end-user instructions
• Support user training and adoption of AI-enabled automation tools
• Research emerging automation and AI features and recommend improvements
• Improve process efficiency and standardization across automation workstreams
Required Skills & Experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps
• Experience integrating AI capabilities such as Copilot, AI Builder, or Azure AI into workflows
• Proficiency with Power BI for dashboards and reporting
• Ability to troubleshoot automation failures and optimize performance
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating into technical deliverables
• Strong documentation skills and ability to support end-user adoption
Preferred Experience
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or other ITSM tools
• Understanding of governance, data privacy, and security considerations for low-code development
• Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
