Project Overview
We are looking for an AI Engineer to build an AI-powered solution that automates physician referral processing.
The solution will:

• Process faxed referral forms (PDF/Image).
• Extract data using OCR and LLMs.
• Validate required fields and identify missing information.
• Automatically populate a web-based referral form.
• Flag low-confidence or incomplete documents for manual review.
The client processes approximately 2,000 referral faxes per month, and the goal is to significantly reduce manual data entry.

Responsibilities
• Design and develop an AI-based fax automation solution..
• Build OCR and document extraction workflows..
• Use LLMs for document understanding and field mapping..
• Automate data entry into web forms..
• Implement validation, confidence scoring, and exception handling..
• Optimize extraction accuracy and overall workflow performance..

Required Skills
• 3+ years of AI/ML development experience..
• Strong experience with OCR (Azure Document Intelligence, Google Document AI, Amazon Textract, ABBYY, or Tesseract)..
• Experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini)..
• Strong Python programming skills..
• Experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)..
• Experience building AI workflow automation solutions..
• Familiarity with REST APIs and web automation..

Preferred
• Healthcare or document automation experience..
• Knowledge of HIPAA best practices..
• Experience with Prompt Engineering, LangChain, or AI Agents..
