Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal AI Engineer / Agentic AI Architect to drive the technical direction and development of production-grade Agentic AI systems. This role requires deep expertise in LLMs, Agentic AI workflows, distributed systems, backend engineering, and cloud infrastructure, along with recent hands-on experience in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of designing and delivering complex autonomous AI systems used across multiple products and teams. Key Responsibilities
Drive the technical direction for Agentic AI initiatives, including architecture patterns, autonomy boundaries, and system design.
Design, build, deploy, and operate production-grade Agentic AI systems across multiple products.
Own and evolve shared Agentic AI capabilities, including:
Agent frameworks and orchestration layers
Planning, tool use, and memory strategies
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and grounding pipelines
LLM infrastructure, inference, and model gateways
Evaluation, observability, guardrails, and safety tooling
Lead technical design and architecture reviews.
Guide engineering teams through tradeoffs involving autonomy, safety, reliability, scalability, performance, and cost.
Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver complex AI initiatives from concept through production.
Evaluate emerging LLMs, AI techniques, and agentic architecture patterns and translate them into enterprise-ready solutions.
Mentor senior engineers and establish engineering best practices for Agentic AI development.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
Strong hands-on experience with LLM systems, Agentic AI workflows, or advanced ML infrastructure.
Recent hands-on development experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Proven experience owning complex Agentic AI systems spanning multiple teams or products.
Strong engineering fundamentals across backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
Deep understanding of the Agentic AI stack, including:
Planning and reasoning workflows
Tool/function calling
Agent memory and state management
RAG and grounding
Agent evaluation and observability
Experience integrating commercial and open-source LLMs into production Agentic AI workflows.
Experience with workflow engines, asynchronous processing, queues, streaming, and event-driven architectures.
Strong ability to operate in ambiguous technical environments and translate requirements into reliable production systems.
Ability to influence technical direction and align multiple engineering teams.
