We're representing a fast-growing AI-native healthcare company rebuilding health insurance from first principles. Rather than layering technology on top of legacy systems, the company is using AI to redesign underwriting, claims, operations, member support, and care navigation workflows from the ground up.

The business is already operating at significant scale, serving tens of thousands of members and managing hundreds of millions in premiums. Backed by leading venture investors and founded by a team of healthcare operators and technology leaders, the company is leveraging AI to reduce costs, improve care outcomes, and eliminate inefficiencies across the healthcare ecosystem.

What You Will Do

• Embed directly within operational teams including underwriting, claims, member experience, care navigation, sales operations, and premium finance.
• Analyze workflows, identify operational bottlenecks, and design AI-native solutions that automate manual processes.
• Build and deploy AI agents, copilots, decision-support systems, and internal productivity tools.
• Develop underwriting systems that summarize risk profiles, synthesize information, and support decision-making.
• Create AI-powered workflows for claims processing, support operations, and healthcare administration.
• Design systems that extract structured information from complex healthcare documents and operational data.
• Build retrieval systems, memory architectures, and evaluation frameworks to improve AI reliability and performance.
• Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and rapidly ship production-ready solutions.
• Measure success through operational outcomes, including increased efficiency, reduced manual effort, improved scalability, and cost savings.
• Continuously iterate on AI systems based on real-world usage and customer feedback.

Ideal Background

• 4–8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong product and business mindset.
• Experience building and deploying production AI applications utilizing LLMs, agents, retrieval systems, or AI workflows.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience building backend systems in production environments.
• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL and designing scalable data-driven applications.
• Proven ability to move from ambiguous business problems to shipped technical solutions.
• Strong customer empathy and ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated track record of ownership and delivering measurable business outcomes.
• Experience operating effectively in fast-paced startup environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate operational challenges into technical solutions.

Preferred

• Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Product Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role.
• Background building AI agents, workflow automation systems, copilots, or operational tooling.
• Experience implementing retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks, and AI guardrails.
• Familiarity with healthcare, insurance, fintech, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience deploying AI workloads on cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering, context management, and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to increase engineering velocity.
