Modernize Enterprise Applications with AI

We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Assisted Modernization Engineer to help transform legacy enterprise applications using Generative AI, AI-assisted development tools, Java, prompt engineering, and modern cloud technologies.

This is not a traditional Java Developer or AI/ML research role.

We are looking for an experienced software engineer who understands how enterprise applications work and can leverage tools such as Claude Code and Claude AI to accelerate application modernization while maintaining strong engineering discipline.

You will use AI-assisted development technologies to analyze existing applications, translate and validate complex business logic, assist with code modernization, generate technical documentation, and improve development efficiency.

Critical Experience We're Looking For

Strong candidates will demonstrate a combination of:

Java + Claude Code/Claude AI + Generative AI + Prompt Engineering + Legacy Application Modernization + Cloud-Native Development

Candidates should have 6+ years of professional software engineering or application development experience and be able to demonstrate practical experience applying AI technologies within software development or modernization initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Modernize legacy enterprise applications using AI-assisted development platforms and emerging AI technologies

• Utilize Claude Code and Claude AI to support application analysis, development, transformation, and modernization

• Apply Generative AI and prompt engineering techniques to improve development productivity and modernization outcomes

• Analyze existing application code and complex business logic

• Ensure accurate translation and preservation of business logic during modernization

• Perform technical validation of AI-generated and AI-assisted code

• Identify inaccuracies, risks, or deficiencies in AI-generated outputs before implementation

• Develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java

• Design, develop, and support modern cloud-native applications and solutions

• Design and implement AI-powered solutions using emerging AI technologies

• Generate and maintain technical documentation using AI-assisted development capabilities

• Support modernization governance, technical standards, and validation processes

• Identify opportunities to automate development, testing, documentation, and modernization activities

• Collaborate with developers, architects, business stakeholders, and other technical teams

• Contribute to key technical and architectural decisions

• Support scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable enterprise solutions

• Evaluate emerging AI and cloud technologies for enterprise development use cases

• Support modernization initiatives within an Agile development environment

• Manage multiple technical priorities while maintaining quality and accuracy

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering/development experience

• Strong hands-on Java development experience

• Bachelor's degree required

• Hands-on experience with Claude Code and/or Claude AI

• Strong Prompt Engineering experience

• Practical experience using AI-assisted tools within software development

• Experience with Generative AI and/or AI-powered application solutions

• Experience modernizing, refactoring, transforming, or migrating legacy enterprise applications

• Experience designing and developing cloud-based or cloud-native applications

• Ability to understand and validate complex application business logic

• Experience reviewing and validating AI-generated code and technical outputs

• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation

• Understanding of enterprise development standards and technical governance

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Experience

Additional experience with the following is highly desirable:

• Development automation

• Static code analysis

• CI/CD pipelines

• Application refactoring

• Large enterprise codebases

• Cloud migration and modernization

Claude Code & Generative AI Experience

We are particularly interested in engineers who are already using Claude Code, Claude AI, or comparable Generative AI development tools as part of real software engineering workflows.

Strong candidates should be able to explain how they have used AI-assisted development for areas such as:

Code Analysis • Code Generation • Refactoring • Legacy Modernization • Business Logic Analysis • Documentation • Testing • Troubleshooting • Development Automation

Simply having exposure to ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI tools is not enough. We are looking for candidates who understand how to apply these technologies effectively while using strong engineering judgment to validate the resulting code and recommendations.
