IDR is seeking a AI-Native Quality Engineering Manager to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity . In this role, you will lead a quality engineering organization as it continues transitioning to AI-assisted testing and modern automation practices. Youll partner closely with engineering and product teams in a SaaS/product environment to improve release confidence, quality metrics, and overall delivery outcomes.
**Position Overview for the AI-Native Quality Engineering Manager **:
- Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers, Automation Engineers, and Testers while maintaining a hands-on, player-coach approach.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted testing practices and help establish standards for effective, responsible AI usage in quality engineering.
- Improve and scale automated testing frameworks across API, UI, integration, and end-to-end coverage.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Release Management to strengthen CI/CD quality gates, release readiness, and defect management.
- Define and track quality metrics (automation reliability, defect trends, regression effectiveness, and release health) to guide continuous improvement.
Requirements for the AI-Native Quality Engineering Manager :
- 7+ years of experience in QA, Quality Engineering, or Test Automation with strong hands-on automation expertise.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience, including experience managing larger QA organizations (ideally 15+ team members).
- Experience with modern test strategies across API, UI, integration, and end-to-end testing, including leading automation strategy and framework improvements.
- Strong understanding of Agile, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices with proven stakeholder communication and mentorship capabilities.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, or Azure OpenAI) to improve testing outcomes and ability to coach teams on effective AI usage.
