AI - Software Engineering-Sr Professional I

About your role:

You will build the APIs, services, and cloud-integrated applications that power Fiserv's contact center and AI platform. You will bring deep expertise in .NET Core and Azure, a strong engineering discipline, and the ability to design, implement, and own production-grade systems from requirements to deployment. You integrate AI agentic capabilities as a natural part of your workflow, leverage tools like Microsoft Copilot to accelerate delivery, and consistently raise the engineering bar through code reviews and cross-team collaboration. 

 

What you’ll do:

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using .NET Core (C#). 

• Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices and cloud-native applications on Azure. 

• Integrate Azure services: App Configuration, Key Vault, Redis Cache, Service Bus, Event Grid, Blob Storage, and Azure SQL. 

• Build and manage containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). 

• Integrate AI agentic models, Azure OpenAI, and third-party AI services into application workflows. 

• Integrate messaging systems (Azure Service Bus, Kafka) and API management tooling (APIGEE). 

• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Harness; support environment-based deployment strategies. 

• Design and optimize SQL Server / Azure SQL schemas, stored procedures, indexing, and query performance. 

• Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices — secure coding, observability, scalability. 

• Collaborate with DevOps, QA, architects, and product teams in Agile sprint delivery. 

• Track and document work using JIRA and Confluence; leverage AI/Copilot tools to accelerate development. 

• Support production systems, troubleshoot incidents, and drive reliability improvements. 

 

What you will need to have: 

• 5+ years of professional backend or full-stack .NET development. 

• .NET Core / C# — RESTful API design, middleware, filters, exception handling, logging. 

• Authentication and authorization: JWT, OAuth concepts. 

• Performance optimization and secure coding practices. 

• App Configuration / App Settings. 

• Azure Key Vault — secrets and certificate management. 

• Azure Redis Cache — caching and session management. 

• Azure Service Bus — queues and topics (messaging). 

• Azure Event Grid — event-driven architecture. 

• Azure Blob Storage. 

• Azure SQL / SQL Server — schema design, stored procedures, performance tuning. 

• Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) containerized application deployment. 

• GitLab — source control, branching strategies, merge requests. 

• Harness — CI/CD pipeline configuration, automated deployments, rollback strategies. 

• Microservices, CQRS / DDD, event-driven architecture. 

• API design best practices and API gateway concepts. 

• Transaction management and data consistency patterns. 

• JIRA — sprint planning, work item tracking, and agile delivery. 

• Confluence — technical documentation and knowledge sharing. 

• SoapUI / Postman — API testing and validation. 
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Fiserv products experience.

 

What would be great to have: 

• ReactJS / TypeScript — for full-stack UI integration capability. 

• Snowflake data platform integration. 

• Kafka — streaming and advanced messaging patterns. 

• APIGEE — API management and gateway tooling. 

• Splunk — logging, monitoring, and operational intelligence. 

• Kendo UI or similar enterprise component library. 

• Azure certifications: AZ-204 (Developer Associate) or AZ-900. 

• AI/ML tools or Microsoft Copilot integration experience. 

• SSIS / data integration pipeline awareness.
