We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy AI Trainer / AI Data Annotator to join our Artificial Intelligence & Digital Innovation team. Job Summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking an AI Trainer / AI Data Annotator responsible for supporting artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives through accurate data labeling, annotation, quality assurance, prompt evaluation, and AI training support. This role contributes to improving AI model performance by organizing, reviewing, categorizing, and validating structured and unstructured healthcare-related data.

The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, analytical thinking skills, and the ability to work with large datasets while following established annotation guidelines and data quality standards.

This fully remote role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative healthcare AI initiatives while working from anywhere within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

AI Data Annotation & Labeling

  • Label, categorize, annotate, and review text, image, audio, and structured healthcare datasets.

  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality, accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

  • Support machine learning model training through high-quality data preparation.

  • Follow annotation guidelines and quality assurance standards.

  • Identify inconsistencies, errors, or data quality issues within datasets.

  • Assist with improving annotation workflows and operational efficiency.

AI Training & Model Support

  • Train and evaluate AI systems using predefined datasets and quality metrics.

  • Review chatbot, NLP, and AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance.

  • Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, and product teams to improve model performance.

  • Participate in prompt testing, response scoring, and AI behavior evaluations.

  • Support supervised learning and reinforcement learning initiatives.

Data Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure data handling processes align with HIPAA, privacy, and healthcare compliance standards.

  • Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information.

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure annotation accuracy.

  • Document annotation processes, updates, and workflow improvements.

Collaboration & Operational Support

  • Work cross-functionally with AI, analytics, IT, and healthcare operations teams.

  • Participate in remote team meetings, training sessions, and workflow reviews.

  • Meet productivity, quality, and project deadlines within established timelines.

  • Stay informed on AI trends, annotation technologies, and machine learning best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Linguistics, English, or related field.

  • 1+ years of experience in data annotation, content review, AI training, quality assurance, or related analytical roles preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in large datasets.

  • Comfortable working with AI tools, annotation platforms, and digital systems.

  • Strong written communication and analytical thinking skills.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and quality standards.

  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence or machine learning concepts preferred.

  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

  • Experience with AI data annotation, machine learning datasets, or NLP projects.

  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), chatbot evaluation, or prompt engineering.
