AI/ML Engineer Associate Consultant

Who Youll Work With

Youll join a diverse team of engineers, data scientists, and AI thought leaders, working across modern AI platforms and partnering with leading technology providers.

In this role, you will also collaborate closely with business stakeholders and transformation leaders to drive adoption of Generative AI solutions, helping clients translate AI capabilities into real-world impact through coaching, enablement, and change management.

What Youll Do

AI/ML Solution Development (Core ~70%)

• Apply Machine Learning, Generative AI, and LLM-based techniques to solve real business problems.
• Design, develop, and support delivery of AI/ML solutions (e.g., NLP, recommendation systems, agentic workflows).
• Build and deploy AI solutions leveraging modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Implement best practices in MLOps / LLMOps, model validation, and production deployment.
• Contribute to solution architecture discussions and technical delivery across client engagements.
• Stay current on emerging AI/ML trends and contribute to Slaloms AI community through knowledge sharing.

AI Coaching & Adoption (Differentiator ~30%)

• Coach client teams on effective and responsible use of Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, copilots, custom AI solutions).
• Deliver enablement sessions and workshops to drive AI literacy and adoption.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-value AI use cases and translate them into technical solutions.
• Support organizational change efforts tied to AI adoption, including workflow redesign and user enablement.
• Develop reusable assets, playbooks, and best practices to scale AI adoption across clients.

What Youll Bring

Experience

• 36 years of experience implementing ML/AI solutions in production environments.
• 13 years of consulting or client-facing experience.
• Experience working with LLMs, RAG, fine-tuning, or agent-based systems.

Technical Skills

• Strong programming skills in Python for AI/ML use cases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Understanding of ML lifecycle, validation frameworks, and deployment best practices.
• Familiarity with data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake (preferred).

Consulting & Communication Skills

• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills, with experience engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Curiosity and adaptability in working with emerging technologies and evolving client needs.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for Associate Consultant is $106,000 to $129,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individuals skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
