Job Summary

Employees in this classification work under general supervision and are responsible for maintaining industrial PC (IN PC) equipment, control systems, and refrigeration systems. Duties include troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and replacing pneumatic controls, electric controls, and DOC control systems. Employees also perform routine and preventive maintenance, repair or replace compressors and related components, and use specialized test equipment, power tools, precision measuring instruments, plumbing tools, and standard hand tools. Additional responsibilities include ordering parts and supplies, operating service trucks, and maintaining boiler control systems. Must be able to work any shift or schedule. Overtime will be required as necessary. Facilities employees may be required to report at their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions, including snow removal duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of central chilled water systems and associated distribution equipment (preferred) Knowledge of steam distribution systems (preferred) Knowledge of Hydronic HVAC systems

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required Must possess an EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification Valid Drivers License Two years of relevant experience or equivalent training

Preferred Qualifications

Three (3) years of HVAC/Mechanical Systems or relevant experience Experience in working with variable volume air conditioning systems Electrician License and controls experience

Physical Demands

Ability to climb ladders, steps, and scaffolds Ability to crawl, bend, twist, squat, and kneel Ability to lift and pull 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis
