PGS Worldwide is seeking an Air Vehicle Systems Manufacturing Engineer in Palmdale, CA for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Air Vehicle Systems Manufacturing Engineer will develop manufacturing processes, production procedures, build sequences, digital work instructions, and equipment installation plans for aircraft vehicle systems. This role is focused specifically on air vehicle systems—not structures or composites—and requires strong CATIA V5, Teamcenter, aviation manufacturing, and cross-functional production support experience.

Required Skills

  • 5 years of air vehicle systems experience, including hydraulics, fuel, electrical, propulsion, avionics, flight test, ground test, environmental control systems, or similar aircraft systems.
  • Aviation experience required.
  • 3 years of recent CATIA V5 experience.
  • 3 years of recent Teamcenter experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross-functionally with industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance, and/or production planning.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and procedures involving assembly, machining, electrical work, metallics, electrical harness fabrication and routing, systems installations, and/or final assembly operations.
  • Experience developing visual work instructions for use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to create and analyze 3D model-based data environments to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions.
  • Ability to define operations procedures and build sequences.
  • Ability to evaluate equipment and tool performance and initiate corrective action for problems or deficiencies.
  • Ability to use factory data to support statistical process control, reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Program special access required to start.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with automation, robotics, computer-aided manufacturing software, and other advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Experience with IoT-enabled equipment or tools.
  • Experience supporting cost reduction, quality improvement, and production efficiency initiatives.
  • Experience providing manufacturability input to product design teams.
  • Experience with manufacturing engineering, air vehicle systems installation, aircraft systems integration, harness routing, final assembly, process improvement, production troubleshooting, digital manufacturing, model-based engineering, and manufacturing data analytics.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures for assemblies and equipment installation.
  • Support air vehicle systems manufacturing, including systems installation and final assembly operations.
  • Drive adoption of new manufacturing technologies and processes to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality.
  • Create and analyze 3D model-based data to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions.
  • Define operations procedures and build sequences to improve production execution.
  • Evaluate equipment and tool performance to verify efficiency.
  • Investigate manufacturing problems and initiate corrective actions.
  • Use factory data to develop statistical process control approaches.
  • Integrate reporting and data analytics solutions to support continuous improvement.
  • Provide input to product design teams on design concepts and specification requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally with industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, quality, production planning, and other manufacturing stakeholders.

  • Onsite full time.

Pay

  • $20.00–$100.00/hour
