Aircraft Assembler

PGS Worldwide is seeking Aircraft Assemblers in Pinellas Park, Florida for one-year onsite contract-to-hire roles supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will perform structural aircraft assembly, fitting, drilling, fastening, riveting, and inspection work while building and refurbishing aircraft parts and assemblies to precise engineering requirements.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience reading blueprints, technical specifications, work instructions, and/or technical publications.
• Experience using basic hand tools such as drills and torque wrenches.
• Ability to use precision measuring and inspection tools.
• Ability to perform detailed mechanical assembly work.
• Ability to work accurately to close dimensional tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based production environment.
• Commitment to quality and safety.

Preferred Skills

• Aircraft assembly experience.
• Sheet metal manufacturing or assembly experience.
• Experience locating holes from blueprints, hand layouts, tooling jigs, engineering drawings, or digital manufacturing platforms.
• Experience with aircraft fastener installation.
• Experience with structural fitting, drilling, riveting, reaming, countersinking, or related aircraft fabrication processes.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter.

What You’ll Do

• Manufacture, assemble, and refurbish aircraft parts and structural assemblies.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform hand drilling and install aircraft-specific fasteners.
• Perform part-fitting operations including filing, sawing, deburring, crimping, trimming, framing, drilling, reaming, riveting, countersinking, and cold working.
• Drill close-tolerance holes.
• Measure and inspect parts to verify dimensional requirements.
• Support production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Modify or repair assemblies to incorporate approved engineering changes.
• Work with production team members to meet schedule and quality requirements.

Pay

• $18.85–$31.44 per hour, based on experience.
