Position Summary
FlyUSA is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our FAA Part 145 Repair Station. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FAA regulations. The Maintenance Planner serves as the central point of coordination between customers, maintenance leadership, technicians, parts, and vendors. This role develops maintenance work packages, forecasts labor and material requirements, schedules maintenance events, and helps maximize aircraft downtime while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
  • Plan and coordinate scheduled inspections, repairs, modifications, and maintenance events.
  • Develop detailed maintenance work packages using OEM maintenance manuals, CAMP, CESCOM, or other maintenance tracking systems.
  • Review aircraft maintenance status to identify upcoming inspections, life-limited components, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs).
  • Build realistic maintenance schedules based on labor availability, aircraft downtime, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance priorities with the General Manager, Chief Inspector, Shop Supervisors, and Maintenance Control.

Work Package Management
  • Create complete work orders and maintenance task packages prior to aircraft arrival.
  • Ensure all required manuals, technical data, engineering documents, and regulatory references are available.
  • Coordinate required inspections, outside vendor services, NDT, paint, avionics, and specialized maintenance.
  • Monitor maintenance progress and adjust schedules as required.

Parts & Materials Coordination
  • Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure required materials are available before maintenance begins.
  • Forecast parts requirements and identify long-lead items.
  • Work with vendors to minimize aircraft downtime.
  • Verify material certifications and documentation meet FAA requirements.

Customer & Internal Communication
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and maintenance personnel regarding maintenance schedules and project status.
  • Provide schedule updates and communicate changes to internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate aircraft arrivals and departures with Operations and customers.
  • Assist with maintenance estimates and planning support for customer quotes.

Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure maintenance planning complies with FAA Part 145 regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance planning records and scheduling documentation.
  • Support audit readiness through organized planning documentation.
  • Assist with tracking maintenance metrics, schedule performance, and aircraft turnaround times.

Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of maintenance planning, maintenance control, production planning, or aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, aircraft maintenance programs, and maintenance documentation.
  • Experience using maintenance tracking software such as CAMP and Corridor
  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance planning processes and inspection intervals.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple aircraft projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience planning maintenance for turbine-powered business aircraft.
  • Familiarity with Cessna Citation, Falcon, Hawker, or Pilatus
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of inventory planning and procurement processes.
