    Summary of Essential Duties

    The Aircraft Traveling Maintenance Technician provides mobile, on-site aircraft maintenance support across multiple stations and outstations to ensure operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and timely aircraft return to service. This role covers stations with limited staffing, supports temporary gaps, responds to on-the-road maintenance needs, and assists with new station startups.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide primary or supplemental maintenance coverage
    • Support locations without permanently assigned technicians
    • Act as local maintenance authority.
    • Assist with new station launches and temporary staffing needs.
    • Perform line maintenance, drop-in maintenance, and AOG troubleshooting
    • Accomplish scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, avionics, and cabin discrepancies.
    • Coordinate with Maintenance Control
    • Communicate findings and timelines
    • Work with Parts and Logistics
    • Interface with approved vendors.
    • Document all maintenance actions
    • Ensure compliance with FARs and company manuals.
    • Promote safety culture
    • Identify hazards; Represent company professionally
    • Maintain tools and equipment.
    • Perform inspections and return-to-service actions.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

    Physical Requirements

    • Frequent stooping, bending, and kneeling.
    • Ability to stand on feet for extended periods.
    • Lift and carry objects up to 70 pounds regularly, up to 100+ pounds occasionally (with assistance).
    • Ability to climb stairs, scaffolding, and/or ladders of varying heights without assistance.
    • Ability to work in cramped spaces and awkward positions as required.
    • Tolerance to noise, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions.
    • Ability to wear protective gear such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

    Work Environment

    • Airport ramp/warehouse environment subject to varying weather conditions.
    • Regular exposure to aircraft noise and vibrations when testing engines.
    • Fast-paced operational setting requires attention to safety, accuracy, and timeliness.

    Schedule Rotation

    • 7 days on / 7 days off rotational schedule; On-duty periods may include extended shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays; Travel required throughout the on-duty rotation, including short-notice assignments; Off-duty rotation is protected unless tech signs up for overtime and wants to be called.
