PGS Worldwide is seeking an Avionics Aircraft Mechanic in Lake Charles, LA for an onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Avionics Aircraft Mechanic will support aircraft maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection on military aircraft. This is a Service Contract Act position supporting a U.S. Navy program. The role requires strong avionics aircraft experience, the ability to read technical data and schematics, and hands-on experience with aircraft mechanical, electrical, structural, and wiring systems.

Required Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

10+ years of relevant aircraft avionics experience.

U.S. citizenship required.

Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing aircraft mechanical components.

Experience adjusting, repairing, or replacing aircraft electrical wiring systems and accessories.

Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, engineering data, technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and written instructions.

Basic knowledge of electrical theory.

Experience using aircraft tools and test equipment, including torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.

Experience using manual hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink guns.

Ability to assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and electrical components.

Ability to work in approved environments during specified work hours.

Ability to wear a respirator or other safety gear.

Ability to work around various physical conditions, including heights and closed spaces.

Preferred Skills

A&P License.

E-6B/707 experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.

What You’ll Do

Maintain, repair, inspect, and modify aircraft structures, systems, components, and engines.

Perform preflight, thru-flight, post-flight, periodic, phase, and other scheduled inspections.

Troubleshoot aircraft systems and restore equipment condition and operation.

Maintain aircraft logs and records.

Provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians during maintenance and modification work.

Work Schedule / Shift

Job ID 1508: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:42 pm, with potential overtime.

Job ID 1509: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 pm - 2:42 am.

Job ID 1510: Thursday-Sunday, 6:00 am - 4:42 pm, with potential overtime.

Pay

$42.04 per hour
