A health and welfare fringe benefit allowance of $5.09 per hour up to 40 hours per week will be provided in addition to the base hourly rateJob Summary: The Aircraft Mechanic II/Hydraulics Mechanic installs, maintains and repairs fluid power machinery.Minimum Requirements and QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent plus a technical or vocational certificate in mechanics or hydraulics.Must be a US citizen with a valid Driver's License.Must have an active Secret Clearance.Minimum of 3-5 years of direct hands-on work. with preference for prior work on Air Force wide-body platforms, preferably KC-135) or equivalent.Must have a valid passport.Must be able to read blueprints and technical schematics, use hand tools, and follow strict safety rules for high-pressure systems.Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime.ResponsibilitiesFixes or replaces broken pumps, motors, cylinders, and hoses.Tests hydraulic circuits with pressure gauges and flow meters to find leaks or blockages.Inspects machinery regularly to stop sudden breakdowns.Keep clear logs of all parts used tests run, and repairs made.Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS.Performs other duties as assigned.RequirementsWorking ConditionsThe working conditions are able to work in tight/awkward and high spaces, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Physical RequirementsThis position must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as well as have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
